Braised Oxtails

Ingredients
  • 6 pounds Oxtails
  • 5 Tablespoons Bomboclaat
  • 1 Tablespoon Fire
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 3 Tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Cup Sherry (I sometimes use beer)
  • 4 Tbs Liquid Smoke
  • 1 Cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 8 Cloves of Garlic-minced
  • 2 Medium Onions-Halved and sliced
  • 2 Green Peppers-quartered and sliced
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven 300 degrees
  2. In a large bowl mix the oxtails Bomboclaat and Fire until the oxtails are evenly coated.
  3. In a large cast iron pot or Dutch Oven add the oil and on medium/medium high heat sear the oxtails. (You may need to do this in batches)
  4. Mix all the other ingredients together in a large bowl
  5. Once all of the oxtails are seared, place them all back into the pot and add the liquid mixture over the top.
  6. Cover the pot with the lid and place in the oven on the middle rack.
  7. Let it cook for 3-4 hours until fork tender
  8. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes
